Sale history: Dell usually knocks $20-30 off list (US$229.99 / C$339.99 in Oct 2026). It launched higher (~C$445, which is what the owner paid) before Dell cut the list price in 2026. Under US$200 is a strong deal.

Pros

  • Bright, accurate 14-inch 16:10 IPS (400 nits, 100% sRGB)
  • Two USB-C ports with 65 W pass-through, so a laptop charges through it
  • Very light (~1.25 lb) with a built-in stand for landscape or portrait
  • 3-year Dell warranty

Cons

  • Only 1920x1200 at 60 Hz
  • No speakers, no HDMI, no touch
  • Limited on-screen picture controls
  • Poor value at full list; reviewers call it ~$100 too expensive

Why it is on the owner's desk

A permanent second screen under the big one: the Dream Desk Setup site, chat, the calendar, or whatever he is half-ignoring. The question it answers for a buyer: What deserves a permanent second screen?

From the owner · T.R.

“I paid C$444.99 in Dec 2025; Dell has since lowered the list price. Daisy-chained off the Dell's Thunderbolt downstream port. If your main display drops to 60 Hz after plugging this in, see the U4025QW note. The low position means you look down at it, so it gets the things I glance at, not the things I read.”

Specs that matter

  • 14-inch IPS, 1920x1200, 60 Hz
  • 400 nits, 1,500:1, 100% sRGB, anti-glare
  • 2x USB-C (DP Alt Mode, 65 W pass-through)
  • 0.57 kg panel
  • 3-year warranty

Alternatives weighed

  • ASUS ZenScreen MB16AC (previously owned, £228 in 2020): the 15.6-inch USB-C portable that proved the second-screen habit before the Dell
