Pros
- Four push-dials give analogue control the key-only decks lack
- Metal dials, satisfying LCD keys, integrated stand
- Mature plugin ecosystem; Wave Link audio mixing is free
- Near-instant response in OBS and other apps
Cons
- Only 8 keys; the 15-key MK.2 shows more actions for less
- Fixed stand, not portable
- Dial command options are narrower than key actions
- Accessories like the XLR Dock add up
Why it is on the owner's desk
Eight buttons and four dials for the actions he repeats all day: mute, layouts, mic gain, scene changes. The question it answers for a buyer: Which shortcuts actually justify a button pad?
From the owner · T.R.
“Bought 18 months after the Wave:3, mostly for the dials: mic gain and system volume on physical knobs. ”
Specs that matter
- 8 LCD keys + 4 push-dials + touch strip
- USB-C, 1.5 m cable
- 140 x 138 x 110 mm, 465 g
- Stream Deck app, Wave Link, OBS
Check before ordering
You get 8 keys, not 15; the fixed stand needs ~110 mm of height; try keyboard shortcuts for two weeks first
